Truffle Popcorn ~ A few simple and dairy-free ingredients are all that's needed to elevate your everyday popcorn to gourmet status! via @thiswifecooks

Truffle Popcorn ~

A few simple ingredients are all that’s needed to elevate your everyday popcorn to gourmet status.

Ths savory snack is easy to make and deliciously addictive!

Truffle Popcorn ~ A few simple and dairy-free ingredients are all that's needed to elevate your everyday popcorn to gourmet status!

White or Black Truffle Oil?

For this recipe, I used white truffle oil.

Technically, you could use either; it’s really a matter of personal taste and preference.

What is the Difference Between White and Black Truffle Oil?

White truffle oil has a delicate and slightly garlicky flavor that pairs well with pasta, bread, potatoes, and in this case, popcorn.

In contrast, black truffle oil has a generally more robust flavor and is typically paired with stronger flavored foods, such as traditionally red-meat-based dishes.

I like this recipe because it’s easy to make in minutes and ingredient amounts can be adjusted to suit personal taste preferences. Enjoy!

Ingredients for Truffle Popcorn

You will need:

  • 4 teaspoons white truffle oil
  • 1/4 cup vegan Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/4 cup Italian flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
  • Salt, to taste

How to Make Truffle Popcorn

STEP ONE: In a small bowl, combine the truffle oil, Parmesan cheese, and parsley. Set aside.

STEP TWO: Pour popcorn kernels into a lunch-size paper bag. Fold the top of the bag over to seal it closed. Microwave at full power for 2-3 minutes, until kernels are only popping about every 2 seconds. Carefully open the bag (the steam will be hot!) and pour the popcorn into a large bowl.

STEP THREE: While the popcorn is still hot, drizzle the oil mixture over the popcorn, tossing to distribute evenly.

STEP FOUR: Adjust seasoning to taste with salt, then serve.

Such a creative and fun recipe! I’m usually not a big fan of hearty popcorn (I need mine sweet), but this hearty one is SO AMAZING! I like to use Violife Parmesan for these, so good.
