This quick and easy snack mix has become a holiday staple in our house and is loved by kids and adults alike.

Two varieties of cereal, pecans, and almonds are covered in buttery homemade caramel sauce then baked to crispy perfection.

Whip up a batch for Christmas or New Year’s Eve and watch it disappear!

Ingredients for Sweet Chex Party Mix

  • Non-stick cooking spray
  • 4 cups corn Chex cereal
  • 4 cups rice Chex cereal
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 cup almonds, slivered
  • 3/4 cup vegan butter
  • 3/4 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar

How to Make Sweet Chex Party Mix

STEP ONE: Preheat the oven to 250°F. Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Spread a layer of parchment paper onto the counter.

STEP TWO: Into a large bowl, add corn cereal, rice cereal, pecans, and almonds. Stir to combine.

STEP THREE: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.

STEP FOUR: Add the corn syrup, stirring to combine.

STEP FIVE: Add the brown sugar then continue cooking, stirring frequently until dissolved.

STEP SIX: Remove from heat and carefully pour over the cereal mixture, stirring gently to fully coat.

STEP SEVEN: Into the prepared baking dish, pour the coated mixture in an even layer.

STEP EIGHT: Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

STEP NINE: Onto the parchment paper, spread the hot mixture in a single layer. Allow the mix to cool completely then serve. Store any leftovers in an airtight container.
