Vegan Black Bean Dip Recipe

With just a handful of simple ingredients and minimal prep time, this easy black bean dip is quick to whip up on a moment’s notice. It’s great for last-minute entertaining, can be served as a cold or warm dip, and pairs well with tortilla chips and raw veggies such as carrot sticks, cucumber slices, or bell peppers. You can also use it as a black bean spread for sandwiches or wraps, or as a topping for tacos, nachos, or quesadillas.

Ingredients for Black Bean Dip

You will need the following:

  • 2 (15-ounce) cans black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro, finely chopped

Optional Toppings

  • Jalapeño peppers – Add sliced or pickled jalapenos for a spicy black bean dip.
  • Pico de Gallo – The chunky fresh tomato adds a pretty pop of color, while the onion and jalapeno peppers add a little bit of heat.
  • Scallions – If you’re not a fan of cilantro, sprinkle a little green onion over the top instead.

How to Make Black Bean Dip

STEP ONE: In the bowl of a food processor, combine the black beans, lime juice, and garlic. Puree until the beans reach your desired level of consistency. Transfer to a serving bowl

STEP THREE: Adjust seasoning to taste. Garnish with extra cilantro and serve at room temperature or refrigerate to serve cold later.

Storage

  • Any leftover dip can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
