BBQ Cauliflower Bites –
Crisp and delicious, finger-licking sticky, air fried BBQ cauliflower is perfect as a party snack, side dish, or entree recipe.
Six simple ingredients and about 30 minutes are all you need to satisfy your barbecue craving!
Most recently, we enjoyed this cauliflower as a main dish with my Easy Vegan Ranch Dressing for dipping.
Side dishes of coleslaw pasta salad and corn on the cob were nice accompaniments. The whole meal tasted like summer! 🙂
This recipe is very easy to make!
I like to use my homemade Carolina Style BBQ Sauce but you can absolutely use whatever sauce you have on hand.
Note that the cauliflower will take three turns in the air fryer. Once with the batter and twice coated in the barbecue sauce.
Ingredients needed for BBQ Cauliflower Bites:
- cauliflower florets
- all-purpose flour
- unsweetened almond milk
- sea salt
- ground black pepper
- Carolina Style BBQ Sauce, divided – or your choice of barbecue sauce
How to make BBQ Cauliflower Bites:
Preheat air fryer to 375 degrees F.
While the air fryer is pre-heating: In a medium-size mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened almond milk, sea salt, and ground black pepper.
Add the cauliflower florets and gently toss to coat. Wipe out the bowl; you will need it again.
In the air fryer basket, arrange cauliflower pieces in an even layer. Depending on the size of your air fryer, cooking may need to be done in batches.
Air fry the cauliflower at 375 degrees F for 12 minutes.
Into the mixing bowl add 1/3 cup of the barbecue sauce. Add the cauliflower and gently toss to coat.
Return the cauliflower to the air fryer. Continue cooking for 12 more minutes.
To the mixing bowl, add the remaining 1/3 cup barbecue sauce. Again, add the cauliflower and gently toss to coat.
Return the cauliflower to the air fryer. Cook for 8-10 minutes more, until the cauliflower reaches desired level of crispiness.
Cheers!
