Ingredients for Asian Style Lettuce Wraps

  • 16 ounces plant-based ground beef 
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon tamari
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 teaspoons fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha hot chili sauce 
  • 1/4 cup scallions
  • 1-2 teaspoons dark sesame oil
  • 8 whole lettuce leaves

How to make Asian Style Lettuce Wraps

STEP ONE: Into a medium-size skillet over medium heat, crumble the vegan ground. Cook, stirring frequently until browned and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.

STEP TWO: Into the skillet, add the onion.  Cook for 1 minute, stirring frequently.

STEP THREE: Add the garlic, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ginger, rice wine vinegar, and sriracha hot chili sauce. Stir to combine.

STEP FOUR: Add the scallions, sesame oil, and vegan ground beef.

STEP FIVE: Continue cooking for 3 minutes, until heated through.

STEP SIX: Spoon into lettuce leaves and serve warm.

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces vegan ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

    Hello Holly, I have a very picky husband, and he absolutely love this recipe as well as I. The flavors are so robust, I wasn’t even missing the real meat, I wanted to test your recipe out first before the kids tried it and it definitely passed with flying colors👍👍👍👍
