Old Bay Mashed Potatoes ~

The distinctive seasoning blend of Old Bay including celery salt, red pepper, black pepper, and paprika gives traditional mashed potatoes a tasty New England twist.

Yukon Gold potatoes are mashed with fresh garlic, vegan butter, non-dairy sour cream, simple seasonings, and Old Bay for a side dish that is both easy to make and delicious.

How to make Old Bay Mashed Potatoes:

Into a medium-size pot, add cubed potatoes, 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning, and minced garlic.  Cover with 1 inch of water.

Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer about 15 minutes, until fork-tender. Reserve 1/2 cup of the cooking liquid. Drain potatoes and return to the pot. (I recommend using a fine-mesh strainer for this step so that you don’t lose any of the minced garlic when draining the potatoes.)

Add remaining 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning, vegan sour cream, vegan butter, sea salt, and ground black pepper.

Mash to desired consistency, gradually adding reserved cooking liquid as needed.

Adjust seasoning to taste. Serve hot.

Cheers!
