Pumpkin Spice Dip Recipe
It’s the official first day of autumn and I’m breaking out all the pumpkin decor and plaid shirts I can find. This changing of the seasons also means it’s time for all the fall flavors.
I like this recipe because it’s easy to make, always a crowd-pleaser, and tastes like sweater weather. Pumpkin Dip is best when served cold so remember to allow time, about 2 hours, to chill and set in the refrigerator.
Ingredients for Pumpkin Dip
- 2 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 8 ounces vegan cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1 teaspoon orange extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
Ingredient Notes
- Confectioners’ Sugar– Also known as powdered sugar.
- Vegan Cream Cheese – Room temperature cream cheese is best for a smooth and creamy dip.
- Pumpkin Puree – Make sure you’re using plain canned pumpkin puree and not pumpkin pie filling.
- Pumpkin Pie Spice – A blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger
- Orange Extract – Adds a bright citrusy note to the dip.
- Ground Ginger – Fresh ginger does not taste the same. For the best flavor, use ground ginger for this recipe.
How to Make Pumpkin Dip
STEP ONE: In a large mixing or food processor, cream together the cream cheese and confectioners’ sugar.
STEP TWO: Add pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, orange extract, and ground ginger. Continue mixing until all ingredients are incorporated and the texture is smooth.
STEP THREE: Cover and refrigerate for about 2 hours, or until the dip is thickened and chilled throughout. Serve chilled with gingersnap cookies and fresh fruit.
Storage
- This dip should be stored covered in the refrigerator and will keep well for 3-5 days.
