Vegan Flatbread Pizza Recipe

I Iike this recipe it’s so versatile and forgiving. This is one of those recipes where the ingredient amounts given are really more like suggestions. The actual amounts used will vary depending on the size of the flatbread used and personal preference.

I used a 16-inch rectangle pizza crust so the ingredients listed are meant for that size of bread. Obviously, if your crust is smaller or larger, ingredient amounts should be adjusted accordingly. You get the idea.

Mediterranean Flatbread Pizza Ingredients

You will need the following:

  • 1 (16-inch) flatbread pizza crust
  • 1/2 cup hummus
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup vegan feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup sweet mini peppers, seeded and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh dill

Ingredient Notes

  • Flatbread Pizza Crust – I used a 16-inch rectangle pizza crust so the ingredients listed are meant for that size bread. If your crust is smaller or larger, ingredient amounts should be adjusted accordingly.
  • Hummus – I used plain hummus but also think some of the flavored varieties would work well, such as Roasted Garlic or Lemon & Dill.
  • Vegan Feta Cheese – Dairy-free mozzarella is also a good choice for this recipe.
  • Sweet Mini Peppers – Use a mix of red, orange, and yellow for pretty pops of color.
  • Fresh Dill – A pinch of dried dill can be substituted for fresh.

Optional Add-Ons

  • Kalamata Olives– For added tanginess and briny flavor.
  • Artichoke Hearts – Their earthy flavor pairs well with the other Mediterranean ingredients.
  • Sun-Dried Tomatoes – For a touch of rich, sweet flavor.
  • More Fresh Herbs – Sprinkle with fresh basil, oregano, or parsley just before serving.

How to Make Mediterranean Flatbread Pizza

STEP ONE: Preheat the oven to 425°F.

STEP TWO: Spread a layer of hummus to cover the flatbread. Sprinkle with garlic salt and black pepper.

STEP THREE: Add crumbled feta, sliced peppers, and red onion.

STEP FOUR: Bake for 10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned and crisp. Allow to stand for a few minutes for the cheese to set then sprinkle with dill, slice, and serve.
