Serve this quick and easy tofu on its own or with your favorite dipping sauce.

Crispy Baked Tofu ~ Cubed tofu tossed with simple seasonings and baked to golden perfection. Uncomplicated, flavorful, and so easy!

In addition to Baked Pesto Tofu, this crispy tofu is among one of my child’s most requested meals and has become one of our go-to dinners for days when dad is working late.

Add some mashed potatoes and peas or broccoli to the plate and we’ve got a well-rounded meal both of us love.

This recipe is uncomplicated, flavorful, and easy to adapt using your favorite herbs and spices.

Serves 4 as a side dish or appetizer, and 2 as a main course.

Ingredients for Crispy Baked Tofu

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 (14-ounce) block extra firm tofu, pressed and cut into 1″ cubes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

How to Make Crispy Baked Tofu

STEP ONE: Preheat the oven to 400°F.

STEP TWO: In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. Set aside.

STEP THREE: Into a large mixing bowl, add the tofu and drizzle with olive oil. Using your hands, gently turn the tofu over in the bowl to coat with olive oil.

STEP FOUR: Sprinkle the tofu with the seasoned cornstarch mixture. Again, gently toss to coat all the pieces of tofu.

STEP FIVE: Onto a parchment-lined roasting pan, arrange the coated tofu in an even layer. Allow some space between each piece so that they are not touching.

STEP SIX: Bake for 20 minutes.

STEP SEVEN: Using a spatula or tongs, turn the tofu over halfway.

STEP EIGHT: Continue baking for an additional 20 minutes, or until the tofu reaches your desired level of crispiness then serve hot.

I love this crispy baked tofu! I normally deep fry mine and don’t feel the best afterwards. This was much easier on the stomach and still so tasty. Less grease to clean up too!
