Praline Fudge ~
This Southern-style melt-in-your-mouth Christmas candy is rich, creamy, and completely dairy-free!
I’ve been making a lot of Christmas cookies lately and decided to mix it up a bit with this sweet and super easy fudge that won instant approval from my daughter and her neighborhood friends.
You’re going to want to add this recipe to your Christmas candy baking list!
And maybe even leave some out for Santa, too. 😉
Ingredients for Praline Fudge
- flour-based non-stick cooking spray
- 3 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup vegan butter
- 3/4 cup vegan evaporated milk
- 2 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
Special Equipment Needed
- For best results, you will need a candy thermometer. These can generally be found easily, everywhere from supermarkets to specialty baking shops.
- Electric mixer. A hand mixer works best as the fudge will be mixed while still in the pot.
How to Make Praline Fudge
STEP ONE: Line an 8×8-inch pan with foil. Spray with flour-based non-stick cooking spray.
STEP TWO: Into a large saucepan over medium-high heat, add the brown sugar, butter, and evaporated milk. Bring to a boil for 10 minutes, or until the temperature reaches Soft Ball Stage (234-240°F) on a candy thermometer.
STEP THREE: Remove from heat and add confectioners’ sugar.
STEP FOUR: Using a hand mixer, beat on low speed for 5 minutes, until the confectioners’ sugar is fully incorporated and the texture is smooth and creamy.
STEP FIVE: Stir in the pecans.
STEP SIX: Pour the entire mixture into the prepared 8×8-inch pan, using a spatula or the back of a spoon to spread evenly.
STEP SEVEN: Let cool completely then cut into 1-inch squares and serve.
Storage
This fudge should be stored in an airtight container, either refrigerated or in a cool place on the counter.
