Vegan Strawberry and Banana Smoothie
We have been on a bit of smoothie kick lately and have discovered they’re not just for breakfast anymore!
In addition to enjoying smoothies as a morning treat, I have actually started whipping them up after dinner and serving them to the family as a quick and healthy dessert!
And this vegan version of the classic strawberry and banana smoothie is definitely one of our many new favorites!
Ingredients for Vegan Strawberry and Banana Smoothie:
- strawberries
- bananas
- orange juice
Pro tip: For best results, use frozen fruit.
For strawberries, I like to keep the pre-frozen bags on hand.
For bananas though, I freeze them myself. I seem to always purchase more than we can eat so, when we’ve got bananas I need to use or lose, in the freezer they go.
How to freeze fresh bananas:
Cut bananas into 1″ slices.
Arrange slices in an even layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Place the baking sheet in the freezer.
Once the banana slices are frozen, place them in a freezer safe plastic bag.
When it’s time to make a smoothie, just pull out just what you need and store the rest for another time.
How to make Vegan Strawberry and Banana Smoothie:
Place strawberries, banana, and orange juice in a blender.
Blend until the consistency is smooth.
That’s it!
Cheers!
