Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 16 ounces tempeh cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup barbeque sauce
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  • Into a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the vegetable oil. When the oil is hot add cubed tempeh, salt, and pepper.
  • Cook for 3 minutes, gently turning frequently, until tempeh is browned on all sides.
  • Stir in the barbeque sauce and water. Continue cooking for an additional 2 minutes, until the sauce is reduced, turning the tempeh to fully coat.
  • Remove from heat and serve hot.
