Ingredients

  • 1 15-ounce can garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 15-ounce pureed pumpkin
  • 3 tablespoons tahini
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper divided
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  • In a food processor, combine the garbanzo beans, pumpkin, tahini, and garlic. Pulse until the mixture is mostly smooth.
  • Transfer to a bowl then stir in the cumin, 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste, adding the remaining 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, if desired. You control the heat! Serve cold or at room temperature.
