Ingredients

For the filling:

  • 4 cups Granny Smith apples peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 cups whole cranberries
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup + 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

For the topping:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup vegan butter melted
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon molasses
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Spray an 8x8-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray; set aside.
  • Into a large bowl, add the sliced apples and cranberries. Add the water, lemon juice, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss to coat.
  • Spread the fruit mixture in the prepared baking dish.
  • Into the bowl, add the oats, butter, flour, sugar, cinnamon, molasses, and salt. Combine the ingredients until they reach a crumbly texture.
  • Spread the crumb mixture evenly over the top of the fruit.
  • Bake for 30 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
  • Set aside to cool for at least 10 minutes. Serve warm or chilled.
