Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 14-ounce block extra firm tofu, pressed and cut into 1" cubes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. Set aside.
  • Into a large mixing bowl, add the tofu and drizzle with olive oil. Using your hands, gently turn the tofu over in the bowl to coat with olive oil.
  • Sprinkle the tofu with the seasoned cornstarch mixture. Again, gently toss to coat all the pieces of tofu.
  • Onto a parchment-lined roasting pan, arrange the coated tofu in an even layer. Allow some space between each piece so that they are not touching.
  • Bake for 20 minutes.
  • Using a spatula or tongs, turn the tofu over halfway.
  • Continue baking for an additional 20 minutes, or until the tofu reaches your desired level of crispiness then serve hot.
