- 24 ounces vegan ground beef
- 1 tablespoon vegan Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 8 slices vegan American-style cheese slices
- 4 burger buns
Into a large bowl, mix together the vegan ground beef, vegan Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt, and ground black pepper. Divide the mixture into four portions, then again into eight. Roll each portion into a ball then shape into thin patties.
Arrange patties onto a flat work surface. Top each with two slices of cheese, tearing the cheese as needed so that it fits onto the patty with no overhang. Cover with a second patty and shape the meat around the cheese so that it is fully enclosed. Season both sides of the patties with salt and pepper.
Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium high heat. Add the patties and cook about 4 minutes on each side, or until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F.
Sandwich the patties between soft burger buns and serve.
